- Do you have any product recommendations for polishing furniture?
- We love The Original Bee's Wax®. It is a very versatile product that can be used on multiple surfaces! We are a local distributor, so feel free to come by our shop to purchase a bottle!
- Do you do furniture refinishing or furniture repair in the home?
- In short, if the piece can be transported, it is almost always more cost efficient to have it brought to the shop. We do have an on-site pricing structure for built-in pieces, such as kitchen cabinetry or wall units.
- Do you pick up & deliver?
- No, we do not; however, we have moving company recommendations if you are in need of transportation.
- Can I email pictures of furniture to you for an estimate?
- Absolutely! With pictures, we can provide an average price of what it would cost to repair or refinish the piece based on its design and dimensions provided
- Do you offer upholstery services?
- No, we do not; our area of expertise is wood restoration and finishing. We would be glad to provide you with recommended upholsterers in the area.
- Will you come to my home or business to give estimates?
- With the convenience of modern technology, we find it very efficient to start by asking our clients to email pictures of the piece first. In most cases, we can provide a ball park estimate based on the pictures provided. If the pictures are not an accurate portrait of the work that needs to be done, then we can schedule a time for an estimate at your home or office.
- What is your turn around time for completion?
- That varies, but typically 2 weeks depending on the job.
- Do you strip furniture?
- Stripping is not always necessary when refinishing, but if the existing finish is not salvageable, we HAND STRIP the piece. We do not use the dip/vat stripping technique, as it can be harsh on glue joints, and weaken the piece. Hand Stripping can be very labor intensive, and to give an accurate estimate we prefer to first test strip an area to see how it responds to the process.
Pricing
Shop Rate
We base our prices on an hourly rate. Our shop rate is $100 per hour.
On-Site Rate
Our on-site rate is $500 for the initial service call, which covers 2 hours of labor, and $200 per hour after that.
